Michael was eight years old on the Christmas Day he lost his brother David. The day had started out well-Michael and David opened their presents and, much to their delight, they both received ice skates from Santa. | I dont want to sound like a grinch but I found When Angels Sing to be a ho-hum book. Oh it had its moments but overall it was an average story that probably has been done a million times in movies and series like Little House on the Prairie. I did like its theme of families together through thick and thin. I do recommend the book but I dont want other readers going into it like I did expecting a great little story but getting an average tale. It is still a good book but I just dont see it as a classic. | I could not put down "When Angels Sing." The story was so well written and would touch the coldest heart. It will have particular meaning for anyone who has ever faced Christmas with a broken heart or a grieving spirit. I was warmed by the patience and love shown by the main character's wife. | This little book is a sweet and soulful Christmas tale about loss, redemption and the power of hope. How do we let go of the sorrows of the past and embrace the present moment? | I don't know how long it has been since I have read a new Christmas story and felt that I was reading a classic my great grandchildren would be reading. Moving, beautiful, sensitive, enduring, these are some of the words that come to mind. Buy yourself a Christmas present and curl up before the roasting chestnuts.
