| We were diappointed as we listened to "I Dreamed A Dream" CD. It arrived yesterday and we were excitied to be able to listen to it on our way to our Thanksgiving gathering. The Susan we listend to over and over on YouTube sang with all her heart and soul. You could feel her spirit. These songs seemed like, in my husband's words "lounge songs". We expected to hear Susan sing from her heart. Instead her songs seem so toned down we wondered if it was actually Susan Boyle singing. Where did she go? | | |  | Susan is brilliant Nov 27, 2009 |
| "Wild Horses" is lovely, especially to begin the album; however, Susan's rendition of all the other songs is outstanding too, right through "Silent Night." She is every bit as good as other popular singers who are performing today. Listen to the entire album with the finest Bose headphones or speakers, and you will hear how truly excellent she is. Indeed, she should be very proud of what she has accomplished with this first album, and so far in her new career. Lots of us love her, and wish her only great happiness and the very best in the months and years to come. Simon Cowell is to be praised for giving her a chance and enabling her to get this far. WOW is all I can say...when I saw her on T.V I thought she had a nice voice , but it was"nt until I brought her first album 3 hours ago then I realised what the world had been waiting for, a singer with a haunting yet knowing voice.Susan sings with such ease and control that you would swear she's been singing and making albums for decades.Her control is flawless... and thats the kind of control (vocally)that takes most of the worlds great singers years to perfect.
Susans voice at times is so haunting and innocent and other times reaches the limits of someone with considerable knowledge and lifes experiences.
When I saw the song choices I thought (oh dear )its very brave for a beginner to even try and sing these songs (only try them in a karaoke bar)!!!...BUT Susan sings them perfectly.....Only as a singer with 20-30 albums behind her and this is her greatest hit of all time album.......or so you would think.

In a time when things can be so negative and we face wars and economic crisis there comes a small beacon of light through the story and music of Susan Boyle. Susan's talent is worthy of an album ... but her story makes her platinum! Like a good, heartfelt movie ... Susan's underdog story can reach into the hearts of all people and send the message that dreams really come true if you try.
The album consists of an array of songs with huge variety. She sings musicals, standards, spirituals and some pop. I am not sure where her genre will end up or if she will create her own. One thing is for sure, her talent and story make for a heartwarming blend of music. You can feel it when you listen. Her dream has come true. She gives us all hope to dream a little more.
