Item Description...
Product Description TwoMorrows Publishing proudly presents a new book series that spotlights indy comics talent with an outside-the-box approach. Through a combination of original photography, multiple art gallery sections, and an introspective dialogue with each subject, Comics Introspective is unlike anything being published. Volume One features Peter Bagge, whose unique, expressive work runs the gamut from political (his strips for reason.com), to absurdist and satirical (the Batboy strip for Weekly World News), and dramatic (Apocalypse Nerd). From his Seattle studio, Bagge lets journalist Christopher Irving in on everything from just what was on his mind with his long-running Gen X comic Hate!, to what's going on in his head as a political satirist. This debut volume features an assortment of artwork picked by Bagge himself, and is printed on deluxe glossy stock to maximize the impact of the art and photography all working to make it as breakthrough as the innovator it covers.

 | Buddy & Bagge; 101 Nov 27, 2007 |
This Book is an In-Depth look into the World of Alternative Artist/Cartoonist: Peter Bagge. Peter is at the Top of the List as one of the very best Graphic Storytellers of the last Twenty Years. His Main Character is a Lovable Loser called Buddy, and this Book is as much the Story of Buddy as it is of the life of his Creator, Peter. Buddy lives in the World of the 1980s-1990's and has suffered greatly as an result. The hundreds of stories about Buddy and his even crazier Family are at the same time realistic and surreal.
Not unlike the best Autobiographic Works of R. Crumb, the World of Buddy is kinda simular to our World and Mr. Bagge is a Master at sucking the Reader right into the Middle of the Action {Sometimes, it's a downright Horrible place to be!}. Needless to say, I find these Comix, as Brilliant Works of insight to the Rights and/or Wrongs we all encounter in everyday life and {For me} are a "Must-Read" experience.
Beyond Buddy, this is the life of Peter Bagge, The Comix Industry and a good look into our Warped Pop Culture in General. If I had my wish, it would be that this Book was double it's 128 Pages in length. There are as much Comix included herein as Text, and as this is a very enjoyable Read, I have to Warn you that you may indeed Learn something as well!
This Book is: "Comics Introspective; Volume One", and if this is indeed the first of a series on Comic Artist/Writers, we are off to a great begining...FOUR STARS !!! | | | Write your own review about Comic Introspective Volume 1: Peter Bagge (Comics Introspective)
