Reviews - What do our customers think?
Don't bother  Dec 25, 2008
As an SAT Tutor, I don't write many reviews of the several dozen SAT books I have in my library. I feel compelled to write about this one, to help the consumer to stay far away, for this is the absolute worst, and I'm quite upset that I wasted my money on it. Why? Typos and errors are not the problem. Nearly every SAT book has them. The bigger problem is that the questions do not resemble SAT questions in the slightest. Not even remotely close. It is almost like the writers have never seen an actual SAT. Even worse, this book drills the student on problems, but every problem is nearly identical to the other, just rephrased.

As an example, in their systems of equations section:

Given the equations below, what is the value of a+b?

(Two equations follow)

The next question has two different equations, and the question asks for the value of ab instead.

Unbelievably, this goes on for 25 questions, and that's it- the whole unit. Never mind that the basic systems of equation problems on the SAT are usually word problems. There are none of those. There are also no combination problems (like a Foil problem mixed in with systems of equations that the SATs love). The book thus fails to write realistic SAT problems, and it even fails in the relatively simple task of drilling students on the basics of what they need to know. There are many good SAT books out there. This is junk.

Lotsa Typos  Sep 21, 2006
Don't ever buy this book unless you like a lot of typos in the answer key. It has good problems to work on, but the answer key is messed up.
