Item Description...

A feast of romance and laughter featuring a delightful and courageous heroine that you can relate to no matter what your size.

Convinced that her larger size relegates her to wallflower status, Freddie Heinz hides behind the wedding cakes she creates as a professional baker. But life is about to change for Miss Invisible.

First of all, Freddie's found a new friend who encourages her to come out of her shell. Then Hal, the cute veternarian, starts showing interest in the woman behind the delightful cakes. And when Freddie decides to break every rule in the "big girl's" book and find out who she really is, life gets even more exciting--and hilarious.

Cinderella, look out Miss Invisible is becoming the belle of the ball--and having a ball in the process. Because when you finally find God's call for your life, any size is the right size--and love can see what the rest of the world passes by.

Must read - loved it  Oct 10, 2008
This is my second book by Laura Jensen Walker, Christian contemporary romance author. Pre-qualifier: I am partial to Walker and a sucker for happy not-so-believable endings for the underdog type - so not sure everyone would agree it's a four-star romance book, but I really enjoyed it for completely shallow and selfish reasons (insert giggle here): main character is "curvy" and so am I, main character truly enjoys and appreciates fine food and so do I, main character loves dogs and so do I....ok, so I could relate a lot to her inner most feelings ranging from insecurities to triumphs, but there in the similarities end. What made her character interesting, funny, and engaging was the ever reliable process of metamorphosis - she didn't lose herself after finding herself so to speak - we get a first row seat into the revealing of the highs and lows of finding one's self. Cons: a bit sappy, Cinderella-ish, sought more depth in plot and certain characters (especially the love interest), challenging to believe motivation behind certain characters. Pros: highly relate-able main character, healthy humor, good moral message which unfortunately is rare in today's contemporary romance genre.

Great Book  Sep 29, 2008
I got my book Friday evening I finished it today, Sunday evening. This was an easy, entertaining, encouraging and inspiring novel. I truly enjoy Mrs. Walker's books. I've read 4 so far and looking forward to reading the 5th as soon as it arrives in the mail. I highly recommmend this book. Great for all women, single, married, skinny, and plus size.

Loved it!  Sep 10, 2008
Fun, easy read. I'm not a big girl, but I can relate to insecurities about looks, feeling like a misfit, and other challenges.

The ending was wrapped up in too pretty of a package for me. Would love to read a sequel...

Great book!  Aug 1, 2008
This was a wonderful book. I had never read anything by Walker, but I have now ordered another one of her books. She is an great writer that really knows how to grab ahold of the reader. Miss Invisible was a very fun book to read. I was sad to finish it, but I look forward to when I start the next book of hers. Buy it. Read it. You won't regret it!

Great Beach Book  Jul 27, 2008
This novel was a nice departure after some more serious reading. I enjoyed the basic storyline: a self-conscious, overweight twenty-something realizes that she is fine, just the way she is. But, I have to say that I found Freddie, the main character, to be a little over the top - a little too neurotic and hard on herself. Luckily, Walker surrounds Freddie with a multitude of well developed and realistic personalities. These characters work together to give Freddie a new lease on life.

A pleasant read - I would recommend you grab this one on your way to the beach.
