Item Description... A practical guide for inviting the wisdom of Mary Magdalene into everyday life • Provides a unique workbook for use in the spiritual pathwork of Magdalene Circles • Includes wisdom stories, guided meditations, journaling questions, and essays by Margaret Starbird, author of The Woman with the Alabaster Jar • Designed for those involved in Magdalene Circles and those interested in applying the sacred feminine wisdom of the Goddess to their lives Women’s circles have been called a “revolutionary-evolutionary movement hidden in plain sight” by Jean Shinoda Bolen and have been hailed as capable of affecting global change. Magdalene Circles are groups of women who focus their shared energies on the wisdom of Mary Magdalene to gain insight into the role of the sacred feminine in their own lives and to help them advance on their spiritual paths. This book offers 14 lessons to help understand the wisdom offered by Mary Magdalene’s story and mythos. Among the lessons are prophecies of the bride, why we need the bride, Magdalene’s archetypal pattern of descent, and how modern women carry the Grail. Well-suited for the individual reader as well as a group, each lesson includes an introduction, guided meditation, questions for journaling, and an essay by Margaret Starbird as well as suggestions for group sharing. Placing Mary Magdalene within the pattern of “cyclic renewal” of earth-based religions, this book offers the chance to incorporate the sacred feminine wisdom of Mary Magdalene into everyday life for Christians and spiritual feminists alike.

 | About Mary Jan 11, 2010 |
| This is a very good book, but I think they are putting a lot into Mary Magdalene that she may not be. O.K. she may have been the feminine of Jesus or his co teacher. Not sure there is enough information to validate that. Hey I love the woman, but so much has been lost of her teachings because of the Catholic Church. Read the book any way. It is a nice read, but not sure you can call it fact. | | | | Touched my Heart Dec 11, 2009 |
This is a good book for people who want practical ways to bring the Sacred Feminine into their lives. Each chapter has a brief explanation and overview, a guided meditation, and questions for reflection and journaling/discussion. The poetry alone is beautiful and inspiring. It is more creative and personal to me than some of the other books I've read on the Sacred Feminine and Mary Magdalene. Most of them were scholarly dissertations on the validity and history of Magdalene and the Sacred Feminine. I already accept that women have had an important and definitive place in Spirituality and was looking for ways to honor and experience Sacred Feminine presence. This book delivered that for me.
The Resources chapter was also very helpful and interesting. It includes other books, groups, organizations, artists, and websites devoted to the Sacred Feminine. | | | | How to create a personal Mary Magdalene circle Jul 19, 2009 |

I have been slowly reading this thoughtful book. It is divided into small sections. Reading it is very simple. However, taking time to ponder the questions and images it awakens requires extra time. I have always been interested in the hidden stories or untold stories of Jesus' life. It only makes sense to me that when creating the Bible, humanity (MEN) had their own way of explaining the events of his life. While most books about the untold stories of Mary Magdalene's role in Jesus' life are trying to prove to the reader that these stories are true, Norton focuses on the spiritual significance of this sacred union. This book lifts the stories into the consciousness of our daily lives. I believe it is a great book for men. It may take a few steps for men to become comfortable with the fact that it is written to and for women. I believe that is part of the healing this book offers. Think of all the books written to and for men that women have read. This book gently softens our understanding of Masculine and Feminine. It nudges the reader to understand their own one sided views of Christianity and the stories of Jesus. Jesus becomes more human when we realize that he was partnered with someone who loved him in an intimate and private way. I would love to see how a group of men would respond to this book. I believe it would make a great premarital workbook for couples.
