Item Description...
Product Description Combining natural law theory, reliance theory, and economic analysis to develop a jurisprudential approach, this is a prescriptive work presenting a vision of what contract law would be like if it were devoted to teaching moral virtue. The jurisprudential approach draws upon insights of Aristotle, Saint Thomas Aquinas, and other thinkers in the natural law tradition. The author applies this approach to selected legal issues to produce the only contemporary book that uses a natural law approach in prescribing specific reforms in American contract law.

 | What do you mean "Translate into English" ? Nov 7, 2000 |
| (One star because I have not read this book yet.) The previous reviewer says he wants to "Translate (this book) into English."In what language was it written ? Or does he simply means "laymen's English" ? I was going to order this book, but now I'm not sure. | | | | contractual obligation should be based on morality Mar 27, 2000 |
| I like the book very much because the auther's view is near to mine.I think it's very important to study contract associated with moral. The development and change of contract liability is on the basis of the tension of the relation between Individual and sociaty and Freedom and order. They have different tendency in time of different ages. Now with the time going on,contractual obligation--the core of contract--is moving towards morality and rationality, and good faith has become an important base .Morality and rationality bring about the breakthrough of the privity of contract and the extending of contractual liability. Now many countries acknowledge pre-contractual liability,post-contractual liability and other collateral liabilities in their contract law. So morality is becoming more and more important in contract theory.I agree with Mr mather, and I wonder if I can contact him because I want to translate the book into English .
