 | GREAT! Sep 11, 2006 |
This is a nice, hardcover book with a plastic comb binding so that it lays flat while looking at it. Most pages have just one recipe on it but some pages have 2. So you're getting lots of recipes for your money. This book also has 16 pages at the back of craft 'recipes'. And these aren't fancy food recipes at all; they've been submitted by regular everyday people like ourselves. | | | | A winner...full of great ideas! Jan 17, 2006 |
I have made four recipes from this book since purchasing it with a Christmas gift card. All four have gotten a request to "make this again" from my husband, which is very unusual...although, I'll admit, I'm no gourmet. This is Down-Home-Style food, and although many of the recipes call for convenience items (canned chicken, for example) I'm sure they can be modified when time permits.
I'm dying to try several more in this book...they all sound so yummy! I can tell this book won't gather dust on my cookbook shelf. Other tips throughout the book on how to make plain staple foods more delectable.
Very easy to follow, even for a kitchen beginner. The book also gives a "Perfectly Prepared Pantry" list to ease shopping, and a kitchen math list, which tells you how much raw product you need in order to end with a specific prepared amount.
Definitely a winner! | | | | Pretty nice cookbook Feb 15, 2005 |
| This is one of the newer Gooseberry patch quick and easy cookbooks. The first was "Quick and Easy" and it really was. The recipes were good too. I've not been too thrilled with this edition - it's almost as if they were more concerned about how much time the meals took to prepare instead of how they taste. By and large, the faster the meal I've found, the lower the scale on taste. So far, I've only gotten two "keepers" out of this recipe book, the rest, well, not so good. I'm pretty disappointed in this one since the first one was so good. I've made almost every recipe in the first one and was looking for some new ones in this one. Oh well, I guess I can go back to making my Southern Living recipes and finding ways to make them faster. | | | Write your own review about Meals in Minutes (Gooseberry Patch)
