Item Description... Filled with warmth and tender insights, Heart of Glass follows the unforgettable Fairwyn March from young adulthood through midlife during the final decades of the nineteenth century.
A free-spirited beauty whose life brims with mountain lore and dulcimer music, Fairwyn disastrously loses her heart to the ambitions of a man who wants only to change her. Determined to be everything her husband wants, she gives up the core of herself. Then one day, she discovers a secret that shatters her world.
Sending herself into self-imposed exile, Fairwyn allows her family to believe her dead. Her journey takes her across the continent–and into the landscape of her heart. In the most unlikely of places–California's decaying Mission San Juan Capistrano–she meets another exile in need of healing. Bound together in tender friendship, they also discover hope in God's promise of love without condition. A spellbinding journey into the human heart.

 | A wonderful journey of the heart Aug 2, 2002 |
| Diane Noble has a wonderful voice in this tale of Fairwyn March, a young woman who leaves her mountain home and marries a college professor. She soon discovers that Zebulon Deforest does not love her and her life spirals out of control. I have enjoyed all of Diane Noble's books and this one is no different. Told in first person, Heart of Glass captures the soul of this troubled girl. I ached with her when she first learned of Zebulon's betrayal. I grieved as she realized that the man she loved couldn't be hers. If you're looking for an enjoyable read, this one's a good bet. | | | | Heart of Glass Apr 17, 2002 |
A Romantic Times Top Pick 4 1/2 STARS.... Diane Noble beautifully portrays life in the Smokey Mountains in Heart of Glass. Fairwyn March is a mountain girl with a voice as pure as crystal. She love her Poppy and her home, but an outsider's visit stirs in her a yearning to know more about the world. When Zebulon Deforest offers her the chance of a lifetime, she take it even though her Poppy is dead-set against it. Being away from the mountain isn't quite what she dreamed of and eventually it seems her Poppy was right. With so much loss and heartache, will she ever find God's peace and forgiveness? THIS ONE SHOULD TOP YOUR READING LIST! | | | Write your own review about Heart of Glass
