 | Loved it! Apr 19, 2010 |
| Excellent devotional. Material is taken from the Breaking Free book/Bible Study. It's nice to have it in bite sized pieces, as a reminder of what I studied. | | | | most excellent devotional Feb 11, 2010 |
| This is a very concise devotional with a short scripture reference and only a few paragraphs to read a day... but those few paragraphs are leaving you with a week's worth of thinking and digesting. It packs more food for thought than most devotionals I've done so far. I have introduced it to my Bible Study group and they are loving it. It's perfect for people like me who are extremely busy but want to have a discipline of a good time with God. | | | | Daily Biblical Devotional - Beth Moore Feb 1, 2010 |
| Excellent! Beth Moore understands much about the walk with the Savior and the many pitfalls brought about by our own fallen nature. I highly recommend this devotional guide for anyone struggling (or not) with their own demons, or witnessing struggles in those near them. | | | | Verses not always used in context Jan 23, 2010 |
The scripture quotes in this devotional often have no real relationship to Beth Moore's daily observations. That is, if you read the verse quoted at the start of each entry *in context* (i.e. actually read the surrounding verses), you will find that the daily entries and the verses don't go together. Either the daily text has no topical relationship to the quoted verse, or the quoted verse doesn't mean what you'd think it would mean based on the daily reading. (But they sure sound good together.)
Personally, I find the disconnect distracting. (Note, I'm not saying every day is has this problem, but it's at least 50% so far...)
I also found the writing a bit shallow to really be 'thought provoking.' It may be that if you're familiar with Beth Moore's other writings, that the daily bites of text are more meaningful.
So, this devotional really isn't for me, but Beth Moore's writing is positive and uplifting. | | | | Daily dose of eternal perspective. Jun 8, 2009 |
